3 X 3 Seeing Ritual Magazine (Case Study)

Seeing is one of the most intuitive senses you have, which may effectively change your perception and give you different perspectives things that surround you. As you see, certain imagery will be stored and framed through the process from environments (which can be natural or man-made.), to eyes, to your brain (memory storage). And these processes vary from people to people.

3 X 3 Seeing Ritual is a photo dairy of daily findings. The idea originated from my notebook, a collection of daily photography taken with my IPhone. Photos usually will be physically printed out in 3inch squares and be placed in the page with graphics and words. Magically, it will help you feel rejuvenate by going through these visual processes. And these stages may affect the way you think about what you see and the way you record your memories/stories. Here I am sharing my way, how about yours?

3 X 3 celebrates the processes of “framing” your world from different visual stages including eye framing, moment capturing, and reframing from memories.

The brand system is inspired by the cropping process of capturing moments. The pattern of the grid is made from additive and subtractive of different sizes of squares.

An image is treated differently in the three stages of cropping: Eye Framing, Moment Capturing, and Reframing from Memory.
